Distribugs has developed a meat substitute together with students, the “BierBurger,” made from brewers’ grains and insects. This burger uses residual flows from the beer industry, reduces CO2 emissions and offers a sustainable source of protein.
During the TT Festival, Distribugs tested the taste, texture, and acceptance of the BierBurger, as well as people’s willingness to pay for this product, using tastings and a tear-off card. Based on the promising results, the company is now continuing with product development and marketing strategy. They are also looking for investors.
