With the goal of gauging the need for stillness in society, Soulmate involved the festival audience in assessing various aspects of their concept. The relaxation cabin, designed to provide a calm and safe space, impressed visitors with its unique round shape and the addition of a lock on the door for added privacy and security. The room’s soundproofing was also considered.

During the test, visitors had the chance to experience the quiet booth and give their feedback. Feedback from the festival audience was mostly positive and enthusiastic. Many recognized the value of a quiet space amid the hustle and bustle of a festival. The round shape of the booth was perceived as attractive and inviting, making visitors feel comfortable and relaxed. The lock on the door provided an added sense of privacy and security, but visitors were less enthusiastic about the soundproofing.

At DGTL 2024, it also offered festival-goers a chill space to unwind. Visitors loved it, showing a real need for such spaces at festivals. Founder Ruben Bruggeling notes, “We had to gently nudge some visitors out, they were so deeply relaxed they didn’t want to leave!” It’s clear: there’s a real need for spaces like these. Let’s ensure everyone can enjoy festivals to the fullest.

The test provided Soulmate with valuable insights to further improve their relaxation cabin and adapt it to the needs and preferences of the public. With their innovative approach to creating spaces for stillness, Soulmate is responding to the growing demand for moments of rest and reflection in our increasingly busy society.
