Sofie’s app makes saving fun and easy by using daily behavioral incentives. Because saving becomes fun only when you do it in a way that suits you. During Crossroads, Sofie tested the technology behind the app and its usability. They also looked at the location-based savings feature. This involves setting aside money based on your location (a trigger). Imagine this: when you take your child to school, you automatically set aside money for his or her studies. It’s an innovative way to integrate saving into your daily routine and achieve your goals more easily.

Astrid Bruinsma-Eggink of Sofie shares her experience, “We really enjoyed testing with Innofest. The informal atmosphere of the event made it easier to talk to people. If visitors were standing in line for food, for example, they were more willing to answer some short questions. Elisha from Innofest did an excellent job of thinking with us, allowing us to refine our testing plan in advance. As a result, we got more out of the test than we originally expected. We received feedback not only on the technical aspects of the app, but also valuable insights on financial issues and usability. By filming users’ actions and reactions, we were able to work directly on improving the app. This yielded new insights, such as the need for an easy way for users to copy an activation code so they could move through the sign-up process faster. We had the 14 areas for improvement worked out fairly quickly, and within 12 days our first release with four improvements was live. We are now moving on to the next eight points. We’re not out of the woods yet!”
