The TT Festival is a party for most people, but unfortunately, sometimes it is accompanied by disturbances. This is why the festival likes to stay easily reachable for city residents, so that quick action can be taken if people are bothered by music or other disturbances. Previously, they did so by being available to residents by phone. This year, TT Festival tested whether communication is better through th Nieuws van de Bouw platform.

The test provided valuable insights. Experiments were conducted with, for example, the timing and frequency of messages. The unique characteristics of a festival compared to construction and infrastructure projects were also taken into account. “We are pleased with the results of our resident communication test during the TT Festival,” said Jelle Anema of Nieuws van de Bouw. “Thanks to the cooperation with Innofest, we received valuable feedback that we can use to further improve our product. This will allow us to take resident communication to an even higher level!”

During Oerol Festival, Nieuws van de Bouw hosted a live blog with important updates. Through posters with QR codes on the festival grounds, visitors could send a message to the festival. Although the number of scans and registrations was limited due to the visibility of the posters, important reports were still received. For example, a tripping hazard at a stage was reported, which was immediately picked up by the Oerol team. An important point of attention for the future is the possibility of anonymous reports, as visitors value privacy.
