Innofest accelerates the sustainable and social transition by helping innovators test their prototypes at festivals and living labs, increasing their chances of success! As a test location, you contribute to a successful test, and in doing so, help make the world a little better. Below, we’ll explain everything you need to know if you want to become an Innofest test location.

How it works

Innofest offers testing programs for sustainable and social entrepreneurs who want to test their product or service at a festival. Note: these are not necessarily innovations that make festivals more sustainable. The testing takes place at a festival, but the innovation can also be applied beyond the festival. Entrepreneurs apply with Innofest, are selected in consultation with the festival, and then attend several workshops based on the Innofest method to make their test as effective as possible. Our test expert guides the content of the test, and our producer makes the test a reality, together with the entrepreneur and the festival’s producer.

What are the benefits for a festival?

For many startups, a test at Innofest is their kickstart to the market, after which they receive many offers and opportunities. You’ll be the first in line if you want to continue working with them.
You’ll show the public, in a practical and accessible way, that you care about sustainable and social innovation. We also organize an innovation tour for visitors and guests, and we can organize a separate innovation tour for your guests.

Who did it before you?

Requirements for a festival to offer a test site:

We can accommodate at least 3 entrepreneurs, and preferably 5.
A test must be allowed to fail. A startup cannot be used as a solution to a challenge the festival is facing.
The test becomes part of the festival program, is listed on the website and in the program, and receives attention on social media.
The test is funded by the festival or a subsidy/fund/municipality that the festival is in contact with.*

What does it cost?

A test package starts at an investment of €30,000. All these costs are used to make the testing program possible. This includes paying the startup scouts, workshops, one-on-one guidance with test experts, production guidance, production costs, and communication.
