Did you know that thousands of kilos of beef fat are thrown away every year? Even though it is a valuable raw material! Instead of using palm oil, the production of which contributes to deforestation and biodiversity loss, The Soaploop turns it into soap. In this way, a by-product becomes a circular and sustainable alternative that helps reduce waste.

At the Kwaku Festival, Tirza and Nia tested their soap live with the public for the first time. Through information boards at the toilets, visitors were invited to use the soap and then share their thoughts. What did they think of this “animal-based” soap? And were they even aware of the ingredients in the soap they use at home? Using feedback cards, the team gathered valuable responses.

The test provided clear insights. Festival-goers paid little attention to soap ingredients as long as the product worked well. However, there was resistance to animal-based components in personal care products, and many did not know how soap is made or how fat can be reused.

With these lessons, Tirza and Nia are refining their communication story and exploring which storyline resonates best with their audience.
