Do you recognize this? The endless search for a beauty or wellness professional who truly matches your hair type, skin tone, style, or background.
Often, clients scroll endlessly through social media, while many professionals don’t fit into established salons. That’s why Patricia and Salfa founded Wellvest: a booking platform that makes small and local beauty and wellness professionals visible and accessible to everyone, regardless of identity, style, or appearance.
During the Kwaku Festival, Wellvest tested which message resonated most with their audience. With three different advertisements, visitors could vote using tokens, while short interviews provided additional insights into what people valued. The results were clear: the message “the right match” convinced the audience the most, more than “booked fast” or “nearby.” It also became clear that visitors are willing to travel further for a better match. At the same time, the team practiced their sales and pitching skills in real life.
Now, Patricia and Salfa are taking the next steps: refining their communication and branding, clearly defining their unique selling points, and exploring existing platforms. Meanwhile, from their office in the heart of Amsterdam, they are building the first version of their booking system.
This project is made possible in part by the Venture Center of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and MDT.
