At the Oerol theatre festival, Chloé van Dalen conducted research on the accessibility of festivals for people with a (physical) disability. The aim was to understand how festivals can better respond to the needs of people who have difficulty walking or use a wheelchair.

Visitors indicated that they appreciate it when festivals show more images of people with a disability on their social media, website and advertising. This contributes to an inclusive festival and it increases the awareness of visitors. In addition, they liked buying an combined ticket, but they also want the opportunity to sit among people without a disability. This emphasises the importance of integration and inclusion at festivals. These insights contribute to improving the accessibility and inclusivity of future events.
