Loook lets you discover more than just the road ahead. It brings the stories behind it to life. Its GPS-powered audio storytelling platform automatically plays stories based on your location. During the historic TT tour, Loook tested whether these stories could make the route more engaging without distracting riders. The app was downloaded 60 times, with 55 people registering. 22 participants completed the full test and 30 filled in a feedback card afterwards.

The first results are promising. Everyone who answered the question saw the audio stories as a positive addition to the tour. Three quarters thought Loook was a fun addition, while a quarter said the stories genuinely made the tour more enjoyable. The GPS triggering also worked well: all participants found the timing of the stories logical or appropriate. The stories stuck with people too: 73% could spontaneously name a story, historic location or event afterwards. The app was also easy to use, with 93% rating it fairly easy or easy to use.

The main areas for improvement are technical. Before the ride, some participants had trouble activating the app or ran into issues with phone settings and helmet intercoms. During the ride, wind, speed and the use of navigation apps affected how clearly the audio could be heard. The stories themselves were well received, but the listening experience can still be improved.

Despite these challenges, Loook received an average recommendation score of 8.1. Participants who used the app without technical problems gave it an even higher score of 8.5. The combination of route and story clearly works: riders get to experience more of the places they pass along the way.

The next step is to make the onboarding easier and improve the audio experience across different phones, helmet intercoms and navigation apps. At the same time, Loook is exploring how the platform could be used for other motorcycle tours.
