Year2025

SimCPR is developing an app that combines an AI avatar, a ChestPad sensor, and a training toolbox to enable anyone to learn CPR independently. During Into The Great Wide Open, the team tested whether participants could complete the training and receive certification within 20 minutes.

Half of the participants without prior first aid experience earned a certificate, while all experienced first aiders passed. The app functioned reliably and proved suitable as a refresher training tool. Younger participants completed the training faster than those over 40. In pairs, experienced users assisted those with less experience. Only a portion of participants was willing to pay €5 for certification. In total, 20 areas for improvement were identified.

Next steps include improving instructional videos and illustrations and launching an updated version in October. This will be followed by a new round of testing with larger groups. The team will further explore the business model and collaborate with organizations such as HartslagNu, the Dutch Heart Foundation, and the Red Cross.
