Year2023

During Mysteryland, Drifty tested their sustainable 3D printed boat, made from recycled PET bottles, transporting artists backstage to the various stages on the festival grounds. Drifty’s ultimate goal is to rent out the boats on a subscription basis. Therefore, festival visitors were asked for their opinions on different subscription forms and the user-friendliness of the boat.

Louden Jansen, the visionary behind DRIFTY: “People appreciate the recycling aspect of the boat. The test phase proved extremely valuable; as a result of the feedback, we are creating a larger version of the boat with integrated benches in our next design. Conventional boats are hardly recyclable; polyester boats, for example, usually end up on the scrap heap. The beauty of our boats is in their life cycle – they can be effortlessly recycled by shredding them again over time and turning them into a new 3D printed boat.”
