Impact Hydrogen developed the HyCooker, a hydrogen-powered cooking device. Around the world, 2.3 billion people still cook using polluting methods, with serious consequences for both health and the environment. The HyCooker eliminates smoke, reduces COâ‚‚ emissions, and contributes to a fair energy transition.

During Into The Great Wide Open, the prototype was used for three days by a caterer and tested by visitors, the municipality, and the fire department. The controllability of the heat was appreciated, but the capacity needs to be increased. There was also a clear need for comprehensive safety guidelines. Festival caterers, campers, and campsite owners expressed interest. Consumers could imagine themselves cooking with the HyCooker, provided that safety and quality are guaranteed.

Next steps include developing two product lines: the HyCooker XL for catering and festivals, and the HyCamping for campers. The design will be modular, with a more powerful burner and integrated safety features such as gas detectors. Pilot programs will be conducted with festivals and campsites, and distribution models for hydrogen canisters will be explored.
