Visitors to the Black Cross had the opportunity to visit Biosphere Solar: an upcoming company dedicated to developing circular and self-repairing solar panels to tackle the growing amount of waste from solar panels. At the campsite, guests could charge their mobile phones via their charging station.

Co-founder Perine Fleury looks back on the test weekend with satisfaction: “We gained valuable insights regarding our customers, including their priorities such as quality, price and efficiency. We have also become more aware of the lack of awareness among certain individuals about forced labour and the huge waste streams resulting from solar panel production. This experiment has given us valuable insights into what works and what doesn’t for our business, and it was great to see so many people charging their phones and even airbeds using solar energy.”
